Byrd Enterprises Unlimited, Inc., a state of North Carolina corporation, began in 1977.  Our first client was the United States Department of the Air Force, Pope Air Force Base, NC. We have held continuous Federal contracts for the past 35 years in various locations around the country.  A brief summary of past and present projects is below.

During the late 1970's and entirely through the 1980's, we held the Military Family Housing Maintenance Contract on Pope Air Force Base, NC as the prime contractor.

From 1989 through 1993 we were the prime contractor on the Protective Coating Maintenance Contract on Pope Air Force Base, NC.

From 1992 through 1993 we held the Base Wide Pavement Contract on Pope Air Force Base, NC.

From 1994 through 1996 we successfully completed Contract Actions (small construction projects) totaling over $1,000,000.00 annually at Pope Air Force Base, NC.

From 1996 through 2002 we held the Grounds Maintenance Service Contract at Pope Air Force Base, NC as the prime contractor.

In 1998 through 2001 we were awarded the Grounds Maintenance Contract at Malmstrom Air Force Base.  During this period Byrd Enterprises won two Installation Excellence Awards.  These awards resulted in Malstrom Air Force Base receiving approximately $250,000.00 back for Quality of Life Projects.

In 2002 we were awarded a landscaping contract in Chicago, IL encompassing approximately four city blocks in the downtown area.  To date, we still perform additional areas of maintenance and landscape design in that region.

In 2003 we were awarded the Total Grounds Maintenance Contract at Dayton National Cemetery located in Dayton, OH.

In 2005 we were awarded a unique tree removal project at a Historic Battlefield in Richmond, Virginia.

In 2005 we were also awarded a Tree Trimming and Removal Contract at Dover Air Force Base, DE.

Periodically, we performed contracts at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT, consisting of landscaping, irrigation, security berms, and retaining walls, etc.

In 2006 we were awarded multiple year Grounds Maintenance Contracts in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

In 2006 we were awarded a Total Maintenance Contract for Raleigh National Cemetery, NC to include janitorial and internment services.

In 2006 we were awarded a total Grounds Maintenance Contract for McChord Air Force Base, WA.

In 2007 we were awarded a total Grounds Maintenance Contract for Altus Air Force Base, OK.

In 2008 we were awarded a total Grounds Maintenance Contract for Langley Air Force Base, VA.

In 2008 we were awarded a total Grounds Maintenance Contract for Offutt Air force Base, NE.

In 2008 we were awarded a new landscaping project in Chicago, IL encompassing approximately four city blocks in the downtown area.  To date, we still perform additional areas of maintenance and landscape design in that region.

In 2008 we were awarded a complete Janitorial Services Contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs servicing the VA Clinic located in Billings, MT.

In 2009 we were awarded a new Total Grounds Maintenance Contract at Dayton National Cemetery located in Dayton, OH.

In 2009 we were awarded a new Total Grounds Maintenance Contract at McChord Air Force Base, WA.

In 2010 we were awarded a new Total Grounds Maintenance Contract at Altus Air Force Base, OK.

In 2010 we were awarded a Total Grounds Maintenance Contract for the Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery located in Columbus, OH.

In 2012 we were awarded a Total Grounds Maintenance Contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Richmond National Cemetery Complex.  This project involves the maintenance of five separate cemeteries in the Richmond, VA area.  Services we provide include but are not limited to mowing, internment services, headstone raise and realignment, headstone cleaning, and Memorial Day and Veteran's Day services.

In 2012 we were awarded a Total Grounds Maintenance Contract with the Department of the Air Force at Goodfellow Air Force Base, TX. 

In 2012 we were awarded a fence installation project with the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Dayton National Cemetery located in Dayton, OH.

In 2012 we were awarded a painting and historical wall repair project with the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery located in Columbus, OH.

In 2012 we were awarded a Millennium headstone raise and realign project with the Department of Veterans Affairs at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery located in St. Louis, MO.  This project involves the raising and realignment of headstones through the use of helical anchors, cleaning headstones, and sod renovation.

Today our sights are set on continuing to offer Federal clients our superior services as aWoman Owned, GSA, HUB Zone, Certified Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned, Certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned, and Small Business contractor.
